So you can’t advertise your listing on Facebook Marketplace…now what?

As first reported by Inman, on Dec. 29th, 2022 real estate agents across the country received news that they could no longer advertise their listings on Facebook Marketplace using a business profile. The news caused confusion and frustration among agents who rely on this as an advertising channel for their properties. Unfortunately, as we’ve seen before, the rules and regulations on social platforms like Facebook are constantly changing and beyond any of our control. During periods of uncertainty and unplanned change, it’s important that you stop focusing on what you can’t do and focus on what you can.

So, you can’t advertise your listings from your business page anymore, but what can you do?

  1. Advertise using your personal profile. Facebook’s parent company, Meta, announced that users will no longer be able to share property listings on Facebook Marketplace with their business profile, meaning real estate agents can still add listings to Facebook Marketplace using a personal profile and share listings as usual on their business pages.
  1. Look beyond Marketplace for broader engagement. If you’re an agent who’s primarily dependent on Facebook Marketplace, consider reallocating your efforts to other areas of the platform. Facebook reels, stories, and boosted posts from your business page are all viable solutions to get your listing in front of potential buyers.
  1. Sit back and let Adwerx handle everything for you. Advertise your clients’ homes on Facebook as well as all over the premium web with Listing Ads from Adwerx. Simply enter your listing address and Adwerx automatically pulls the property information and images and then allows you to customize your campaign details and length. Use Listing Ads to promote just listed, price reduced, and just sold properties or open houses not only on Facebook but on premium websites like ESPN, The Wall Street Journal, and more.

Digital marketing is constantly evolving. Things move fast in the tech world, and as new trends emerge, even the best agents can be thrown for a loop. Looking beyond today’s solutions and being ready for what lies ahead is critical to a successful marketing strategy. Luckily at Adwerx, this is built into our DNA. Let us take care of your listing advertising, while you take care of your sellers.

Adjust your ad strategy through your Adwerx portal, or start an ad campaign at adwerx.com.
