SamSpeaks! with Joel Goodrich

Reading time: about 2 mins

The sheer selling power at the table was pretty staggering when Sam DeBianchi sat down with Joel Goodrich for this episode of SamSpeaks!

Both know their markets inside and out. Both know luxury. And both were eager to compare notes and share their expertise.

One of the San Francisco Bay Area’s most prominent luxury real estate agents over the past 23 years, Joel Goodrich works closely with clients in the sale and purchase of prominent estates, penthouses, and investment properties.

He has listed some of the most expensive homes in America and he is an internationally recognized real estate expert, appearing on CNBC, Bravo’s Million Dollar Listing San Francisco, The Travel Channel, BBC, Wall Street Journal, San Francisco Chronicle, Forbes, Business Times, Curbed.com and elsewhere.

You can see why he and Sam had a lot to talk about. So how does Joel generate this client base?

“I don’t dial for dollars. I dine for dollars,” he said, laughing. “I’d rather be over a hot meal than a cold phone.”

Joel doesn’t have to balance his work and his social life because they are on in the same. It’s not that he’s always selling. But he is always listening.

“Real estate is a pastime in San Francisco,” he said. “They want to talk about it here. Then over time, as I became more well known, people come to talk to me about it.”

Combine his expertise in real estate with a love for architecture, design, and fashion, and there is little that Joel can’t talk about with his sphere. And the real gem of inspiration is this: Joel has a business plan.

It was one of his first and most influential pieces of advice he ever received. And what started as a two-page plan has grown every year. “I found that as my plan grows, so does my business.”

Watch the full episode to learn more about Joel, how he earned the right to sell some of the most expensive listings in the Bay area, and how he continues to nurture that growth, never resting.

“Knowledge builds confidence. Confidence instills enthusiasm. And enthusiasm sells.”
