Advertising Real Estate 101
Real estate advertising should always be about maximizing the bang for your buck. Advertising is an investment in your business and your brand. That doesn't mean you should empty your bank account, but without advertising, you are losing money. Luckily, we've compiled a real estate advertising guide for new agents, so their businesses will go bang without their dollars going up in smoke.
Return on Investment: Advertising Real Estate
According to Google's research, 90 percent of prospective home buyers use the Internet to find a home. Only 28 percent cite print advertising in newspapers as a source in their search, and just 19 percent use home buyer magazines.
Obviously, digital advertising should command a bigger portion of your budget. But it's not as if you're the only real estate agent who's figured that out.
Digital Advertising Strategy
First and foremost, you need to know how much you can spend—then how to spend it wisely.
Smart Ads, Smart Phone
In today's society, many prospective home buyers use their phones to research properties. So, if your website isn't responsive, it may look great on your laptop, but smartphone shoppers will pass you by.
TIP 1: Go mobile. If you're not there yet, invest now.
TIP 2: Get on Google+ and learn how to make the most of it.
Pay-Per-Click (PPC) Advertising
PPC is a cost-controlled way to target your ads to local home buyers. Your ad is associated with purchased keywords. Several other real estate agents incorporate PPC into their effective advertising strategies, so those keywords are in demand. The amount you are willing to pay per click is your bid in an auction for the display of your ad.
TIP 3: Bid high enough to hit the top two spots on Google, otherwise mobile users won't see your ad without scrolling to the bottom of the page.
Retarget Your Ads
PPC ads are your digital billboard. Retargeting is the strategy we use at AdWerx to post your billboards everywhere your customers go. When customers visit your website, we grab a cookie so your ads will follow them around the Internet.
